The Problem

Coordinating Curtailment at Scale Is Beyond Manual Capacity

Grid operators, utilities, and demand response aggregators need to coordinate curtailment across hundreds or thousands of commercial sites. During a grid emergency, they may have minutes — or seconds — to dispatch a response. Manual dispatch processes cannot operate at this speed or this scale.

Traditional approaches lack real-time visibility into site-level curtailment status. When program operators send dispatch signals, they often have no confirmation that individual sites have actually executed — until it is too late to address underperformance.

As more renewable generation enters the grid and demand patterns become less predictable, the need for dispatchable, reliable flexible load resources has become critical infrastructure — not an optional program.

The Solution

One Platform. Hundreds of Sites. Total Control.

DemandMaster is DemandQ's control portal, API, and reporting system for program operators. It enables geographic, zone, and time-based activation of curtailment across all connected sites through the RTD Hub — aggregating flexible loads into a Virtual Power Plant with full real-time visibility and automated execution.

Platform Components

Three Products, One Integrated Ecosystem

For program operators, aggregators, and utilities

DemandMaster

The primary control portal for program operators. Configure curtailment rules, set strike prices, monitor site status in real time, and dispatch events across the entire connected portfolio — from a single interface.

  • Multi-site portfolio management
  • Geographic and zone-based targeting
  • Configurable strike prices and schedules
  • Real-time site status monitoring
  • Full API for system integration
  • Program performance reporting

For partners and resellers

White-Label Platform

The white-label version of DemandMaster. Partners and resellers can deploy the complete DemandQ demand management platform under their own brand — enabling them to offer a differentiated, enterprise-grade product without building their own technology.

  • Full white-label branding
  • Complete DemandMaster functionality
  • Partner-managed customer portal
  • Co-branded M&V reporting
  • Dedicated partner support
  • Revenue sharing model

For the entire ecosystem

RTD Hub

The Real-Time Demand Hub is the communication backbone that connects DemandMaster program operators with end-user sites. It provides the reliable, low-latency dispatch infrastructure for fully automated curtailment at scale.

  • Sub-second signal delivery
  • ISO and utility connectivity
  • Aggregator program management
  • End-to-end encrypted dispatch
  • Redundant communication paths
  • Comprehensive audit logging

How It Works

From Portfolio Onboarding to Real-Time Dispatch

  1. 01

    Portfolio Onboarding

Connected sites are enrolled in DemandMaster via the RTD Hub. Each site's EZConnect or BACnet integration is verified, baseline load profiles are established, and curtailment parameters are configured per site.

  2. 02

    Configuration

Program operators configure geographic zones, curtailment schedules, strike prices, and load priorities within DemandMaster. Rules can be set at the portfolio, zone, or individual site level.

  3. 03

    Signal Receipt and Dispatch

When a grid event, price signal, or scheduled dispatch window activates, DemandMaster sends curtailment commands through the RTD Hub to all targeted sites simultaneously. Each site's DemandQ system executes autonomously.

  4. 04

    Real-Time Monitoring

Operators monitor event execution in real time through the DemandMaster portal. Site-by-site curtailment status, actual demand reductions, and performance against committed levels are all visible live.

  5. 05

    Program Performance Reporting

After every event, DemandMaster generates IPMVP-compliant performance reports documenting curtailment delivery, revenue earned, and portfolio-level aggregate impact — ready for program compliance submission.

Key Features

Built for Grid-Scale Demand Management

Geographic & Zone-Based Activation

Configure curtailment rules by geography, utility zone, feeder, or custom groupings. Target specific areas during localized grid stress without activating your entire portfolio.

Time-Based Scheduling

Define curtailment schedules by time of day, day of week, season, or in response to market signals. Automated dispatch fires precisely when programmed — with no operator intervention required.

White-Label Capability

Deploy the entire DemandQ platform under your own brand. DemandQ's white-label version of DemandMaster enables partners and resellers to offer a complete demand management platform to their customers.

VPP Aggregation Across Hundreds of Sites

DemandMaster aggregates the flexible load capacity of every connected site into a coordinated Virtual Power Plant. A single operator can dispatch hundreds of buildings as a unified grid resource.

Real-Time Grid Signal Integration

DemandMaster ingests real-time signals from grid operators, ISOs, and utilities — including emergency event notifications, capacity emergency alerts, and economic dispatch signals — and translates them into automated curtailment actions.

Market Price & Weather Integration

In addition to grid signals, DemandMaster integrates real-time market prices and weather forecast data to enable proactive, intelligence-driven dispatch — anticipating grid stress before it becomes an emergency.

Platform Scale

The Infrastructure for the Modern Flexible Grid
